Story & Atmosphere
Pho Pasteur II, located in Carrollton, TX, is a standout destination for lovers of authentic Vietnamese pho and casual dining. From the moment you walk in, the modern yet relaxed atmosphere invites you to enjoy not just a meal but a flavorful experience. This spot impresses with its efficient service—food arrives swiftly, fresh, and steaming hot, even during busy lunch hours.
The true highlight here is undoubtedly the pho. The broth embodies a deep, slow-simmered richness that captures the essence of traditional Vietnamese cooking without being overly oily. Reviewers consistently praise the balance of flavors—the meaty aroma mingling perfectly with the fresh herbs, jalapenos, and bean sprouts offered as condiments. Whether you prefer a classic Pho tái bò viên, an XL bowl with eye round steak and fat brisket, or a varied combination with flank, meatballs, and tripe, each bowl features perfectly cooked noodles with just the right tender chew.
Beyond pho, Pho Pasteur II delivers on other Vietnamese staples such as bánh mì sandwiches and spring rolls. The bánh mì come generously filled with fresh vegetables and savory meats, and the spring rolls with pork and shrimp maintain a fresh, crisp texture that complements the rich pho broth. The team behind the scenes keeps the kitchen running smoothly, ensuring orders come out promptly without sacrificing quality.
While most diners rave about the food’s authenticity and the well-portioned servings, a few note minor service quirks like quiet servers or slightly watered-down Thai tea. Still, these small points don’t detract from the overall solid experience. Pho Pasteur II’s compelling combination of rich, authentic flavors, quick service, and generous portions makes it a go-to spot for pho in the Dallas area. For anyone craving a satisfying, well-crafted bowl of pho paired with fresh, savory accompaniments, this spot is a must-visit.
“ No wait time, food came out quick and hot. Flavors were good and portion was fulfilling. ”
“ I came in around 3 PM and it is definitely a busy spot for lunch but they were quick to clean and get people in. I ordered an XL Pho with Eye Round Steak and Fat Brisket. Soup: A pretty rich broth that had a nice meaty flavor by itself and not too much oil in it either. Noodles: Were cooked just right so it wasn't tough and chewy or mushy at all. Meat: I usually order normal brisket instead of fatty brisket but this one was pretty tender and tasted well and fresh. There wasn't much toughness on the meat and it had a nice taste. Price/Size: For the price of around 15 dollars, I got a solid sized bowl that definitely filled me up well. Extras: They bring all the side stuff to put in your pho on a separate plate which is nice if you don't like any of it in your bowl. Bathroom had bath soap for hand soap which was funny. Overall: A really solid bowl of pho and definitely one of the best ones I've had. It is a bit pricey but for comparison sake with all other pho reviews, it's not too bad. ”
“ Favorite place for pho by far. The menu is extensive, and there are so many options for pho that it took us awhile just to make a decision. I ordered the combination bowl, with flank, round steak, meatballs, tripe, and soft tendon. The noodles were tender and cooked just right, but the true star of the dish was the broth. It was rich, balanced, and had that deep, slow-simmered flavor that can only be achieved with hours of cooking. We also had some fresh and tasty pork and shrimp spring rolls. The peanut sauce even had a little chili mixed in for just the right kick. An excellent meal, start to finish. Highly recommended if you're craving comforting, authentic pho done right. ”
“ Came in super hungry after a hard few days of work and greatly enjoyed the casual, relaxed atmosphere and the super prompt service. Our food was out in under 10 minutes from ordering! Definitely a well oiled back of house. We love it every time we come here and the price to portion is just right. If you want flavorful pho, I urge you to stop in! ”
“ I rate this 4.5 out of 5. The food was flavorful and fresh and the serving size was good. We ordered 2 types of pho and both were tasty and full of flavor. We also ordered 2 types of bahn mi sandwich and they put a good amount of veggies and meat. The server was polite but sometimes speaks too soft. The interior was modern design and had enough space for different party size. The overall experience was positive and we would cone back here whenever we miss eating this type of food. ”
